HP Fairfield is a member of the Alamo Group Inc. family, known for its expertise in snow and ice control. They are seeking an Assembly Technician / Installer to mount and install equipment according to specifications and blueprints, utilizing various tools under supervision.

Responsibilities

Mount tilt fronts, dump bodies, hydraulic hoses and/or tanks according to specifications and blueprints, using appropriate drills, welder, torches, band saw and other tools as necessary with fairly close supervision

Lay out, position, align and fit components together

Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position

Set up equipment and weld parts for mounting tilt fronts, dump bodies, etc

Perform at least 1 out of the 3 primary functions: Welding, Electrical, or Hydraulics

Assist with installation of equipment in truck cabs as necessary

Perform other miscellaneous tasks as required by the Installation Team Leader

Required

Basic welding and fabricating skills

Experience with torches, electric drills, reamers and band saw

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, assembly diagrams or schematics

Ability to write simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and series of numbers

Ability to perform the four arithmetic operations with like, common and decimal fractions

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations

Ability to perform fairly repetitive duties and tasks according to set procedures, interacting with people only when it is routine

Commitment to teamwork

A minimum of 6 months of related experience

Work performed in a metal manufacturing production environment, with frequent standing, twisting, bending, stooping, and climbing in and around metal fabricated parts

Frequent lifting, pushing or pulling of 35 pounds alone, and >35 pounds with assistance

Requires sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to identify required parts and operate production assembly equipment (i.e. hand tools, power tools, forklift truck, etc.)
