Responsibilities

Maintenance, repair, and overhaul of a variety of automotive and mechanical equipment
Repairs or replaces conventional, medium duty tires
Tests and repairs starting and charging systems
Recharge batteries
Inspection of motorized and mechanical equipment
Performs preventative maintenance for all equipment
And performs related duties as required

Required

Graduation from High School or GED supplemented by mechanical trade courses
One year of preventative maintenance experience with automotive and power driven equipment required
Possession of a valid California Class C Motor Vehicle Operator's License is required at time of appointment
Ability to perform preventative maintenance, make basic mechanical repairs, and to assist in the more difficult repairs of a wide variety of automotive and power driven equipment
Skills in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing the more routine faulty operating and mechanical troubles
Ability to keep accurate records and assist in preparing reports on the preventative maintenance program
Follow oral and written instructions
Use independent judgment in recognizing and resolving problems dealing with the preventative maintenance program
Ability to read and comprehend automotive and equipment maintenance and repair manuals
Performs tasks requiring physical effort including bending, stooping, and heavy lifting
New hire candidates must show proof of full Covid vaccinations prior to being hired

Preferred

Prior experience with a Fleet Management Software is highly desirable
