Senior Manager, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering Operations (Onsite)

Responsibilities
Instructs, directs, and checks under general direction, the work of manufacturing/industrial engineers to ensure that quality and manufacturing standards are met
Identifies opportunities or implements changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts to optimize productivity and ensure optimal use of resources
Designs the sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, and other functions that affect product performance, to ensure efficiency and optimize performance
Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques to enhance performance and manufacturing capabilities
Manage a team of entry to professional level engineers, with the freedom to determine how assignments are completed
Mentor team members, set objectives and guide others on approach and execution to achieve business results
Ensure adherence to standard work
Lead cross functional teams to solve complex issues
Provide technical leadership to develop statistical process control and digital manufacturing execution systems
Responsibility for identifying and implementing Capital Expenditure projects
Ensure the protection of Collins Aerospace and safeguard of customer and supplier/partner intellectual property
Lead ME/IE team on shop floor problem solving and support
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
Strong project planning, communication skills and resource management skills
Ability to work across the organization and various disciplines including Engineering, Operations, Program Office, and Business Development
Experience running multiple complex projects and integrated cross functional teams
Conflict resolution and negotiating skills
Preferred
Familiarity with CORE, policy deployment, and continuous improvement activities
Experience with databases and software tool development
Experience implementing process automation
