Responsibilities
Manage and maintain cloud-based and hybrid database environments, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security
Design, implement, and manage database migration strategies, including structured planning and execution checklists to ensure smooth transitions
Optimize database configurations, perform routine database tuning, monitor performance metrics, and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks and issues
Ensure robust data security practices, including compliance with RMF, STIG, and other relevant DoD security standards
Collaborate closely with Cloud Architects, Engineers, Developers, and Security Analysts to implement efficient and secure database solutions aligned with architectural and operational requirements
Conduct regular backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and continuity procedures for database systems
Document database infrastructure, configurations, processes, and procedures comprehensively
Qualification
Required
TS/SCI with Polygraph
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
Minimum of three years of experience in database administration within cloud (AWS/Azure) and hybrid cloud environments
Demonstrated experience with relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB)
Proficiency in SQL query optimization, schema design, database monitoring tools, and data migration tools and strategies
