Barco Products is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work on the manufacturing floor to improve processes and workflow. The role involves using CAD equipment for plant layouts and drawings, and maintaining manufacturing equipment while ensuring efficiency in production.

Responsibilities

Continue efforts in making shop floor efficient and introducing lean principles

Update and maintain product data in production databases

Have sense of urgency to fix, maintain, improve manufacturing equipment and processes

Uses computer assisted design/drafting (SolidWorks CAD) equipment and software to develop product improvements

Continually update CNC programs for efficiency, model changes, to meet manufacturing demand

Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings)

Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure

Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings

Create and Maintain shop floor & Customer product instructions

Create and Maintain product jig & fixtures

Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for Production Drawings

Communicate with Tooling, QA, Engineering, and Manufacturing regarding new and revised products

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions, assembly instructions and correspondence

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

High skill level in SolidWorks CAD software

Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office
