Senior Software Engineer (FrontEnd)
Staffing Science is focused on building the next generation of open-source developer tools that power AI integrations at scale. They are seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer with a strong front-end focus to create elegant and performant interfaces for developers interacting with AI tooling and system integrations.
Responsibilities
Design and implement polished front-end interfaces using Svelte and/or React, with a strong emphasis on usability, developer experience, and performance
Build full-stack features across modern open-source tooling (Node.js, Python, Go, TypeScript—any strong backend experience in OSS languages is welcome)
Develop and maintain interfaces for discovering, managing, and interacting with AI/LLM tools, integrations, and system connections
Work closely with product and platform engineering teams to turn complex workflows into intuitive, accessible UI flows
Own features from design, architecture, development, testing, documentation, deployment
Contribute actively to open-source discussions, pull requests, documentation, and best practices
Help shape and refine the developer experience for a new category of AI and integration tooling
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
Must be a Front End SME who can work full stack
Must have worked for startups, have good tenure and ideally have an active github or website to further showcase your experience
8+ years of professional software development experience, with a substantial emphasis on front-end engineering
Deep experience with Svelte (preferred) or React, plus strong TypeScript fundamentals
Full-stack proficiency with one or more open-source backend languages (Node.js, Python, Go, etc.)
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego approach to engineering
Ownership-driven: you take pride in building clean, maintainable software end-to-end
Logical, consistent career progression — not looking for contractors or frequent job-hoppers
Strong curiosity about emerging technologies, developer experience, AI systems, and open-source ecosystems
Preferred
Experience with AI, LLM agents, or Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a plus, but not required
Experience building developer tools, dev-platform systems, cloud-native tools, or open-source infrastructure is highly valuable
A strong record of open-source contributions (PRs, issues, personal projects, community involvement)
Comfortable working in public repositories and collaborating in the open
Background in open-source-focused companies or developer-tool startups is a bonus
