Vesuvius North America is seeking a Hot Tops Intern to assist with the control of contractors and oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. The intern will be responsible for coordinating installations, collecting data, and analyzing ways to improve equipment while resolving technical problems and implementing corrective actions.

Required

Accomplished undergrad or graduate program in engineering, with a focus on mechanical engineering, preferably

Candidate must be able to commit to a part-time schedule (20 hours/week) for 12-weeks, starting in the Spring semester

Flexibility to occasionally adjust hours for plant visits, training, or project deadlines may be required

Proficient in MS Office

Ability to visualize and sketch equipment and layouts

People skills to professionally interact with outside contractors

Develop daily/weekly work plans for contractors

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand, walk, use hands to operate computer equipment, and talk or hear

The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms

The work environment has temperature extremes and moderate to high noise level

Regional travel is required occasionally
