Responsibilities
Work with internal teams and external packaging vendor partners to identify, validate, and implement value creation opportunities across packaging materials and processes
Evaluate packaging materials to ensure materials meet performance standards, comply with regulations, and work efficiently with manufacturing equipment; focus on innovative packaging solutions for new and existing products, focusing on functionality, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability
Identify and leverage best-in-class packaging vendor partners by working with the S&OP team to understand supplier performance and expectations
Analyze existing packaging processes to identify areas for improvement, implementing changes to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and optimize for automated systems
Identify opportunities to leverage automation to streamline packaging processes, improve efficiency, and reduce cost; conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed packaging and automation solutions
Partner with the Packaging Sr. Manager and Operation leads to ensure proper implementation of automation processes and systems
Work closely with other engineers, project manager, and stakeholders to integrate automated systems from concept to completions, including timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, procedures, and testing protocol for packaging materials and processes
Diagnose and resolve issues with automated packaging equipment, packaging systems, and other automation technologies
Research, validate, and commercialize innovative primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging solutions to meet the needs of the business units, retail partners, and consumers
Qualification
Required
Must be very detail-oriented, analytical, self-motivated, and possess high drive and high initiative
Experience working with all levels of management and personnel both internally and externally; able to cultivate business relationships to help drive business and across multiple cross functional teams
High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a high level of expertise in presenting clear concise results that drive action, to numerous levels of management and internal customers
Ability to set and manage multiple priorities, use good judgment, and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to travel domestically (20%), if needed
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Industrial, Computer, or Packaging Engineering
3+ years' experience working in manufacturing/production sites
Preferred
CPG product knowledge is preferred
Successful experience in an entrepreneurial environment is a plus
