Sr Project Controls Analyst - Cost

The Sr Project Controls Analyst - Cost will support the T&D team by providing project cost monitoring, budget variance tracking, and forecasting to ensure effective project management and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare, maintain & submit monthly P&C budget variance analyses and forecasts
Develop project plans & specific cash flows based on work scope
Coordinate & maintain monthly cost data & reports in Excel and/or Project Tracking System (PTS)
Update project forecasts or other requested project financial/status reports
Prepare Utility Review Board (URB) Documentation (PCRs, PP slides, waterfalls, etc) for project cash flow approvals
Provide monthly closeout of projects
Provide monthly updates to New Equipment Database Long Island (NEDLl.)
Provide monthly updates to the Construction Work in Progress (CWIP) aging reports to meet department and corporate deliverables and deadlines
Update project forecasts or other requested project financial/status reports
Provide storm restoration support as required by the Emergency Restoration Organization

Required

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, Accounting, Business, Finance, or Construction and a minimum of 5 years of experience performing analysis, preferably in finance or utility construction
Experience with relevant software such as Microsoft Office products and possess the ability to quickly learn new systems and applications
Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interface and communicate with people at all levels and across organizations
Demonstrated personal accountability and excellent organizational skills to deliver performance excellence
Possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving history
Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required

Preferred

Utility Experience
Construction Experience
Basic knowledge and experience with electric transmission and distribution systems
Knowledge of LIPA's (Long Island Power Authority) business operations, policies, and practices
Knowledge of Project Management (PMO) practices and understanding of corporate finance & budget practices is preferable
Experience in SAP, project scheduling and cost management
