Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive legal counsel on zoning and land use issues arising from the Firm’s real estate transactions, including issues arising from acquisitions, sales, leasing, financing, and other development projects

Handle complex land use and zoning matters such as subdivisions, upzoning and other rezoning applications, variances, conditional use permits, and appeals

Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to identify potential issues and develop effective strategies

Draft and negotiate real estate contracts, including ZLDAs, ULURP applications and other similar applications, air rights and development rights purchase agreements, light and air easements, and other development agreements

Represent clients in administrative hearings, zoning board meetings, and litigation as needed

Stay current on real estate, land use, and zoning laws and regulations, including, but not limited to the New York City Zoning Resolution

Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver seamless client service
