Responsibilities
Produce drawings, sequences of operation, and bills of material of building automation systems for submission to project Engineers/teams
Develop BMS software databases (programming and graphics) in accordance with engineering documents and project specifications
Design, integrate and support network migration for Internet / Ethernet / BACnet / Modbus platforms
Maintain accurate As-Built drawing package and make changes in Autocad, Visio, Excel and Word as required
Visit the field as necessary to adjust design sequences to operate correctly with the actual system(s) and remain on site as necessary to complete functional checkout and commissioning activities in support of technicians to meet project schedules
Conduct self-study to improve knowledge of required job skills and stay abreast of industry trends
Maintain confidentiality
Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company team of managers, engineers and technicians, the client and consulting engineers
Value engineering recommendations where appropriate
Working with consulting engineering community to foster personal and company growth and maintain design discussions throughout the build process
Conduct surveys and generate repair recommendations and reports to customers
Remain current on the latest products, technologies and applications available
Mentoring younger colleagues
Develop custom energy reporting, power metering, trending and billing programs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in EE, ME, CE, Math or Physics
Strong interest in building automation and controls required
Minimum 4 years experience in the HVAC/controls industry
Strong communication, negotiating and organizational skills
Competency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred
DDC controller programming, third party device integration with BACnet and modbus preferred
Experience with mechanical system operation
Basic understanding of the construction process preferred
Automated Logic WebCTRL experience a plus
