Oxford Global Resources is supporting an aerospace client advancing a cutting-edge unmanned fixed-wing aircraft program. They are seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer to contribute to flight testing, network architecture, and low-level hardware integration to meet critical program deadlines.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Technical Software Lead to implement design changes and ensure timely delivery of program milestones

Integrate embedded software with autopilot systems, sensors, and control loops for fixed-wing UAVs

Develop and maintain low-level software in C/C++ and Python

Implement and optimize communication protocols including I2C, SPI, TCP, and UDP, consolidating distributed services into a single communication flow

Support flight testing activities, analyzing data and validating system performance

Contribute to user interface development for embedded systems monitoring and control

Assess and write drivers to interface with new hardware or protocols as needed

Required

Strong embedded software development background with low-level programming experience in C/C++ and Python

Hands-on experience with embedded autopilot systems (centrifuge, navigation) or expertise in control loop development

Proficient with communication protocols: I2C, SPI, TCP, UDP

Experience in flight testing of fixed-wing aircraft, drones, or UAVs

Exposure to UI development for embedded systems

Knowledge of network architecture for distributed services is a plus

Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance

Preferred

Previous experience in unmanned aircraft program support

Familiarity with driver development for custom hardware/protocols

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
