Responsibilities
Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards
Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR
Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required
Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection
Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections

Ability to adapt to rapidly changing laboratory workflow
Less than 1 year of applicable experience
Ability to collect patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards
Ability to correlate patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR
Ability to perform and report Point of Care laboratory testing as required
Ability to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection
Effective communication skills with nursing and unit staff
