Indiana Tool & Die Engineer
Jasper Engines & Transmissions is seeking a Tool & Die Engineer to join their Indiana Tool & Die division. The role involves designing and developing tooling, parts, and fixtures, as well as improving existing designs to ensure the company offers the best products on the market.

Responsibilities
Perform solid modeling and creation of drawings
Establish/maintain vendor relations, including identifying part improvement opportunities with potential vendors
Provide technical support to internal departments including Production, Quality, and Purchasing
Aid in the evaluation of sample parts from vendors
Provide periodic project updates, and must be open to additional training/application opportunities
Communicate with supervisor, engineers, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues
Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner
May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Some light duty lifting is required (up to 35 pounds) and using a hoist for heavy lifting to cut metal and install and remove tooling and work pieces from the machine
Simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling, finger dexterity, foot movement, bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching are all required at times

The ability to follow instruction and communicate clearly
Proficient with developing 2-D drawings utilizing AutoCAD
Proficient with using 3-D modeling software (Solidworks and Design X)
The ability to independently manage projects
The ability to accomplish assigned tasks within allocated time frame
Intermediate knowledge and ability to use precision measuring instruments. Instruments include but are not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, scales, and CMM/Faro-arm/Metra-Scan
Adaptable to changing work environments, competing demands, and be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
The ability to take verbal and written instructions and work from handmade sketches
Follow all safety policies and procedures
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent preferred
