VP of Operations
RudderStack is a warehouse-native customer data platform that enables companies to collect, govern, and activate real-time customer data. The VP of Operations will build and run the operating backbone of the company, ensuring efficient scaling and operational rigor while collaborating closely with various departments including Engineering and Product.

Responsibilities
Own and drive the company’s operating cadence: OKRs, planning cycles, quarterly execution, and cross-functional alignment
Translate company strategy into clear execution plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes
Identify operational bottlenecks and proactively drive resolution across teams
Partner closely with Engineering and Product to understand infra, data pipelines, reliability, cost structures, and scaling constraints
Drive operational rigor around cloud costs, efficiency, margins, and capacity planning
Ensure operational decisions are grounded in a strong understanding of the underlying technology
Work with Sales, Marketing, and CS leaders to improve pipeline hygiene, forecasting accuracy, deal velocity, and expansion motions
Support pricing, packaging, and monetization initiatives with data-driven analysis
Help scale enterprise-grade operational processes without slowing velocity
Partner with Finance on budgeting, headcount planning, unit economics, and board-level metrics
Own dashboards and KPIs across the business, ensuring leadership has clear, actionable visibility
Support board meetings, investor updates, and strategic planning
Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives (new product launches, AI strategy execution, org scaling, systems changes)
Bring a consulting-style approach to ambiguous problems: structured thinking, clear recommendations, and decisive execution
Qualification
Required
Technical background (engineering, data, infra, or similar) with the ability to engage with product and engineering leaders
MBA from a top-tier school (e.g., Stanford, Wharton, Harvard, INSEAD, Kellogg, Booth, etc.)
8+ years of total experience, including: In operations roles at infra / developer-focused / SaaS companies, and Management consulting experience (MBB or equivalent strongly preferred)
Outstanding candidates who do not meet minimum requirements will be considered
Experience operating in high-growth, ambiguous, scaling environments
Strong analytical and structured thinking; able to break down complex problems quickly
Deep comfort with data, metrics, and systems
High ownership mentality — willing to get hands-on while thinking at a strategic level
Excellent communicator who can influence across functions without authority
Executive presence with the ability to operate credibly with the board and investors
