Responsibilities
Lead project design strategy and engineering execution from preconstruction through completion
Serve as lead engineer, coordinating HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical disciplines
Align design scope, constructability, cost, schedule, and performance expectations
Manage internal and external design teams through construction documents
Partner with project and construction leadership on estimating, procurement, and risk management
Guide subcontractor and vendor design strategies during preconstruction
Ensure installed systems meet contract documents, codes, and performance standards
Conduct site investigations and participate in client-facing meetings as needed
Qualification
Required
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
10+ years of experience in design, estimating, and project leadership within a design-build or consulting environment
Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction cost and scope development
Proven experience in the California market (Title 24, HCAI, DSA)
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while also contributing as a senior technical engineer
