Transmission Project Manager
American Municipal Power, Inc. is seeking a Transmission Project Manager to execute transmission construction projects throughout the AMP Member footprint. The role involves coordinating with various departments, managing project activities, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Execute transmission construction projects throughout the AMP Member footprint on time and within budget
Coordinate with AMPT Planning, Engineering, Operations and Project Management to develop, implement, operate and maintain AMPT transmission assets
Plan, execute, monitor, and close projects in a safe, efficient and economical manner
Develop and evaluate requests for proposals
Coordinate/manage activities in various stages of the project development process: ROW and real estate acquisition, design, material procurement, construction, and closeout
Communicate and coordinate with AMPT members on project activities
Review consultants’ and contractors’ performance, applications for payment, and contract modifications; proactively resolve disputes and claims
Manage agreements and amendments
Create purchase requisitions and process construction invoices
Develop and report on construction project budgets, regular budget updates, variances, progress and expenses, and construction contract records
Coordinate with Director Transmission Operations on outage scheduling and execution
Coordinate the delivery of all owner furnished equipment at all sites
Ensure construction performance is in compliance with specifications, on schedule and within budget
Maintain proficiency on FERC Standards of Conduct
Coordinate and collaborate with other AMPT functions
Oversee the work of consultants/legal as required
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Two-year Associate's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Construction Management or related field required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction project management required
Must be critical path oriented and able to manage/prioritize multiple tasks
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are essential; must possess ability to creatively solve problems in a collaborative environment
Experienced using software tools that produce spreadsheets, written reports, database reports and graphical presentations (e.g., Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of project management software tools
Must be willing to travel to assigned project locations
Preferred
Bachelor of Science degree preferred
