They are seeking an Automotive Equipment Operator I to operate and maintain delivery trucks and vehicles within the transportation department at Porterville Developmental Center.

Must operate and maintain delivery trucks and any vehicle needed to perform duties in the transportation department as scheduled by the Automotive Pool Manager or designee

Individuals interested in the position must take and pass the Department of State Hospitals' Automotive Equipment Operator I, DMH & DDS examination

Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement

Must be able to move, load and unload heavy items

The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired

The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired

The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired

Submit a completed standard state application (STD. 678) and copy of driver license valid for operation of any bus designed to carry more than 15 passengers, any single vehicle with three or more axles, any such vehicle towing another vehicle weighing less than 6,000 pounds gross by the final filing date
