Milwaukee Rep is a theater company seeking an Assistant Technical Director to support the Technical Direction team. The Assistant TD will be responsible for budgeting, engineering, drafting, and overseeing the construction and load-in/out of scenery for productions, ensuring the designer's vision is realized within available resources.

Responsibilities

Generate shop drawings in AutoCAD for assigned projects

Act as lead-TD on assigned productions including accurately budgeting designs for labor and material costs

Purchase materials and supplies for builds, and maintain inventory tracking throughout the process

Maintain and build local and national vendor relationships

Enforce all safety guidelines and protocols – Maintaining a safe working environment in all venues and workspaces

Research and engineer scenic elements as assigned

Collaborate with Production Area Heads on a daily basis to ensure a smooth production process

Collaborate with all stakeholders on the build plan to ensure the set is delivered as designed and on schedule

Develop scenic load-in and out plans, including labor and special equipment or safety needs for all productions

Coordinate the trucking and transportation of scenic elements from offsite shop to and from performance venues

Oversee and run, as needed, the load-in and load-out of scenery in all venues

Attend technical rehearsals and production related meetings as needed

Assist with facilities maintenance as needed

Additional duties as required including participation in education and outreach events
