Responsibilities

Independently leads the organization, training, equipping, and assessing the agencies law enforcement programs
Independently conducts, leads, plans, organizes compressive evaluations for assigned command programs ensuring the programs are in complacence with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customers' needs at all levels of the Command
Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities for a military and civilian staff
Develops and instructs specialized courses and blocks of instruction at training locations world-wide on a broad range of law enforcement topics to AFOSI special agents and other law enforcement personnel
Represents the AFOSI with a variety of DAF and functional area organizations

Males must be registered for Selective Service
Department of the Air Force special investigations functional experience, particularly at the management headquarters level, is highly desirable
The incumbent must undergo an internal background investigation by AFOSI and must be approved for duty by the Commander of AFOSI or the Commander's designated representative(s)
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug testing
The position required the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI (Special Sensitive) clearance
Significant prior national security or law enforcement training and experience, including experience conducting or consulting to criminal investigations, undercover operations, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and other law enforcement and national security activities, is highly desired
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of the rules of evidence, criminal procedures, and court decisions concerning admissibility of evidence, constitutional rights, search and seizure, apprehension, investigative interviewing, and related criminal investigative law enforcement matters
Knowledge of federal, military, state, and local statutes, regulations and processes pertaining to criminal investigations, counterintelligence, tactical operations, and training of military and/or law enforcement personnel
Skilled in conducting complex criminal investigations and investigative interviewing and providing consultation to field agents for ongoing criminal investigations and operations
Extensive skills in interpersonal relations, working well with others, and communicating effectively both orally and in writing to all organizational levels, including senior military leadership inside and outside of AFOSI, influential individuals from other federal, state, as well as various law enforcement and intelligence agencies
Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results and make appropriate recommendations
Ability evaluate the effectiveness of various techniques and advise military/civilian law enforcement in the advantages and effectiveness of various applied efficiency solutions using the most effect and empirically validated methods

Preferred

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, in criminal justice, criminology, forensics, applied psychology, government, political science, or law is highly desired
A Master's degree or equivalent experience in public management, administration or criminal justice is desired but not mandatory
