Responsibilities
Assist in the design management, documentation review, and administration of architectural projects from concept to delivery
Support consultants by producing presentations and reviewing design team documentation
Conduct research on industry innovations, technical developments, and best practices
Attend client meetings, design workshops, and site visits to support consultant teams
Assist in ensuring the architectural design of Event, Collaboration and Executive Briefing Venues, Activations, and Support Spaces are optimized for the overall guest and user experience
Support the development of client requirements documentation for new event and experience spaces and assist in producing briefs for the architectural design team, including architectural requirements, operational considerations, and program constraints
Support the development, documentation, analysis, and presentation of user journey studies and wider strategic visioning studies
Assist in delivering and maintaining progress reports and presentations to key stakeholders and partners using written and drawn documentation to communicate stakeholder requirements, project aims, and design intent
Work with internal design teams to develop holistic solutions balancing functionality and budget
Support client portfolio-scale initiatives and assist in problem-solving for design challenges
Contribute to discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions within the company
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Participate in structured learning and development programs
Uphold Charcoalblue’s quality standards and cultural values
Qualification
Required
Experience in a relevant industry such as technical theatre, events, architecture, design, project management, or other related field through education, internships, or direct work experience
A professional interest in building design and construction projects
Excellent professional communication skills
A passion for storytelling through exceptional experiences
Preferred
Exposure to theatre, live events, or construction-related environments is advantageous
Adept at synthesizing complex data and high-level concepts into clear, concise, and visually compelling presentations for cross-functional audiences
Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Vectorworks, or similar) is desirable
Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
A practical understanding of the AIA design stages and the typical level of information required at each stage
Experience in experiential design, executive briefing programs, theatre, performing arts, or event space buildings, either through direct experience or professional design work
Ability to conduct research and apply findings to project work
Proficiency in both Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite, and a willingness to learn industry-specific tools
Skilled in the visual, written, and verbal communication of design issues with the capability to think outside the box and bring creative, non-standard, and innovative solutions to the table
Competence in the presentation of imagery and drawings to convey ideas
Detail-oriented with the ability to think, plan, and execute on multiple projects in different phases simultaneously without reliance on direct supervision
Informed design sensibility, with a curious and open approach to design
