Responsibilities

Lead all financial conversations with Studios leadership to understand trends, overages, risks, and opportunities
Build and present assessments of Studio-wide spend, including forecast accuracy and budget utilization, with clear actions to improve results
Own the analysis of unplanned expenses and develop business cases for approvals or alternative solutions
Lead the forecasting process across daily, monthly, and seasonal cycles, ensuring all finance jobs are captured and forecasted accurately
Oversee income allocation, tracking, and reconciliation across Studios
Ensure all data in MAS is accurate, complete, and updated in a timely manner
Establish P-Card standards, track spend, and make recommendations for limits and compliance
Track, analyze, and guide decisions on major vendor contracts—including spend levels, timing, expirations, and renewal needs
Manage contract negotiations and ongoing relationships with major vendors, including the one-time payee agency for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and other events
Work with procurement and finance partners to manage renewals and secure contract terms aligned with business needs
Partner with corporate teams (HR, TA, Procurement, Travel, Treasury, Expansion) to ensure Studios follows Macy’s financial and operational guidelines
Lead cross-functional budget vs. actuals reviews and recommend steps to drive better results
Support HR on compensation conversations and recommendations tied to seasonal and full-time staffing
Manage and develop at least one direct report, setting expectations, coaching for performance, and ensuring strong output
Lead seasonal staff and ensure clear onboarding and alignment for event-dependent needs
Build and track profit margins for major projects and events, including lookbacks and forward-looking scenarios
Partner with Expansion teams to forecast P&Ls for new opportunities
Develop automated reporting solutions (AirTable or similar) to streamline processes and improve visibility
Partner with People Leaders to determine seasonal staffing needs and adjust allocations throughout the year
Own the Studios onboarding/offboarding strategy to create a consistent, organized experience
Centralize and streamline internal requests and approval processes across Studios teams
Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities

Required

Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university required
Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in finance operations, business operations, financial planning, or a related field
Strong communication skills; able to present information clearly and keep partners informed
Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; able to work across functions and with leaders at all levels
Creative, strategic, and technical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with limited supervision while owning outcomes
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and meet aggressive deadlines
Superior system skills, including advanced Excel and experience manipulating large datasets
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Flexible schedule required; able to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
Working July 4th and Thanksgiving Day should be expected

Preferred

People-leader experience strongly preferred (managing direct reports, coaching, delegating, performance management)
Innovative mindset with a track record of improving processes or building efficiencies
