Responsibilities
Generate CNC programs in Mastercam to meet drawing and customer specifications
Develop and optimize machining processes, including setup/fixturing strategy, tool selection, and feeds/speeds parameters
Design, build, and improve fixtures; implement tooling and fixturing best practices to maximize production output
Incorporate design changes for customer revisions, technical improvements, and manufacturability enhancements
Create CAD models and shop drawings to support manufacturing and quoting
Review customer RFQs and drawings to define material requirements, job costing, and manufacturing approach
Produce estimates and quotes based on raw material selection and manufacturing processes
Partner with Machining and Quality functions to monitor output, address nonconformances, and drive process improvements (setup time, cycle time, quality, risk reduction)
Run production on CNC machines as required to support critical schedules and ship dates
Support operator training and mentoring as needed
Qualification
Required
Mastercam CNC programming experience for production parts
5+ years of skilled machining experience (Journeyperson papers preferred)
Ability to independently set up CNC machines
Ability to machine parts and run production as needed to meet ship dates
Blueprint reading with GD&T tolerancing
Proficiency with G & M codes
Experience with machining process development (workholding, tooling, feeds/speeds, order of operations)
CAD experience to generate models and shop drawings
Ability to interpret solid models for quoting and manufacturing planning
Proficient Microsoft Office skills
Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (hot/cold/noisy areas) and perform frequent physical tasks (handling tools, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching)
Preferred
Fixture design and build experience
Estimating and quoting experience (RFQs, job costing)
ERP experience; familiarity with Made2Manage (M2M)
Experience building routings and bills of materials (BOMs)
Experience supporting operator training/mentoring
