Responsibilities
Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of Azure Local / Azure Stack HCI and Hyper-V clusters
Drive migration from Cisco blade infrastructure to a modern hyperconverged, Azure-integrated platform
Manage on-prem compute, storage, and networking with high availability and performance requirements
Oversee Windows Server failover clustering , Live Migration, and rolling maintenance strategies
Partner with leadership on infrastructure roadmap, capacity planning, and modernization initiatives
Integrate on-prem environments with Azure services such as Azure Arc, Azure Backup, and Azure Monitor
Lead or support hardware refreshes, platform upgrades, and lifecycle management
Mentor technical staff and collaborate with vendors and MSP partners as needed
Qualification
Required
Hands-on production experience with Hyper-V, including clustered environments
Experience with Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) or deep Hyper-V clustering experience that directly translates
Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2019/2022, Failover Clustering, and Cluster Shared Volumes
Experience with hardware refreshes or infrastructure migrations (VMware → Hyper-V, blades → HCI, or similar)
Operational experience maintaining uptime using Live Migration and rolling upgrades
Ability to describe environments built, migrated, or modernized—not just supported
Preferred
Direct experience deploying or operating Azure Stack HCI / Azure Local
Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) experience
Azure hybrid integrations (Azure Arc, Backup, Monitor, Site Recovery)
VMware-to-Hyper-V migration projects
Windows Admin Center and PowerShell automation
Experience in mid-market or enterprise multi-site environments
