Senior Operator - Utility Line Maintenance (ULM) (Hiring Incentive: $2,500)
The City of Lewisville is seeking a Senior Operator for Utility Line Maintenance to repair and maintain wastewater collection and water distribution systems. The role involves operating heavy equipment, performing repairs and maintenance on utility lines, and communicating with the public about water issues.

Responsibilities
Operates heavy equipment such as mini excavators, rubber tire loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and other equipment to assist with the maintenance and repair of water/wastewater utility lines
Transports equipment to and from work site and participates in preparing the site for maintenance/repair operation, including set-up of safety and warning devices such as shoring, cones, flags, etc
Inspects and performs basic service, preventive maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required to keep equipment in safe, working order; fuels equipment, checks tires, assures that equipment is secure and operational; reports major service/repair needs to supervisor or other designated authority
Assists co-workers in performing tasks as required; lifts, moves, and sets pipe; turns valves; replaces clamps, etc
Performs repairs/maintenance to the water and wastewater system, including main lines, valves, fire hydrants, service lines for water and wastewater, manholes, air release valves, pumps and motors, and check valves
Compile documentation required for completed tasks, such as work orders and service requests
Investigates issues as needed using as-builts and GIS mapping services
Communicates with homeowners and business owners to inform them of water and wastewater issues such as water leaks, water outages, wastewater stoppages, overflows, etc
Ensure all crew members are carrying out assigned tasks and issues and concerns are documented and reported properly
Performs site restoration including final cleanup, adding fill material, laying sod, or any other items that need to be addressed
Performs all other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required
Two (2) years of experience in a related field required
Must currently possess a valid State of Texas Drivers' License Class 'CDL-A' with an 'N' endorsement for tank vehicles
Must currently possess a valid Class D Water Distribution License
Must currently possess a valid Class I (one) Wastewater Collections License
Must pass an Equipment Operations Test
Must submit to and pass a criminal background, pre-employment drug test, pre-placement medical examination, and job placement assessment (JPA)
Must possess a valid State of Texas Drivers' License Class 'CDL-A' with an 'N' endorsement for tank vehicles and good driving record as defined by City policy
Knowledge of trench safety and skillful placement of safety devices such as shoring boxes and trench jacks
Knowledge of equipment such as water pumps, walk behind compactors, and small hand and power tools
Knowledge of Diggs Tess procedures, line locate and acoustic leak detection equipment, utility markings, techniques and procedures in repairing water and sewer lines, and traffic control devices
Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and training crew members
Skilled in operating assigned tools and equipment in a safe and proper manner
Skilled in basic troubleshooting
Skilled in federal, local, and state regulations
Skilled in using Envirosight Camera system
Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely both orally and in writing
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, veteran's status, genetics, or job type
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 100 pounds
