Baltimore County's Department of Recreation and Parks is seeking Fishing Center Attendants for the Loch Raven Fishing Center during the summer season. The role involves assisting in the operation of the fishing center, attending to patrons' needs, and maintaining the facilities.

Responsibilities

Attend to the needs of the fishing center patrons

Assist patrons with the location and safe use of rental boats and motors

Encourage the proper use of trash receptacles and toilet facilities

Maintain fishing center facilities in a safe, sanitary, and attractive condition

Prepare rental boats and equipment for the use of patrons, including carrying 12-volt batteries

Perform painting, repairing, and light grounds keeping at the fishing center as directed

Performs other related duties as required

Qualification

Certified Paddlesports Safety FacilitatorFirst Aid/CPR/AED CertificationWater safety knowledgeCustomer serviceInteract courteously

Required

Must be at least 16 years of age by May 1, 2026

Must be able to work weekends and holidays throughout the summer and have days off on weekdays

Must have reliable transportation

Facilities are not located on public transportation lines

Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Preferred

Persons with a current Certified American Canoe Association Paddlesports Safety Facilitator (or equivalent) will receive special consideration

American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED will receive special consideration

Current CPR Certification will receive special consideration

Water safety knowledge will receive special consideration

Ability to interact with people in a helpful, courteous manner

If NOT a current Certified American Canoe Association Paddlesports Safety Facilitator (or equivalent), are you able to attend training arranged by Baltimore County at the start of the season

Applicants having the ability to work the entire season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, will be considered first
