This role is designed for students pursuing degrees in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields, providing real-world experience in environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Assist with air emissions, water discharge, and waste management calculations

Support sampling and analysis of water, soil, and air quality to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations

Help maintain and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment

Review chemical inventories for environmental acceptability and assist with spill response and remediation efforts

Prepare and update environmental reports, including monthly compliance summaries and sustainability metrics

Participate in projects aimed at reducing environmental impact, such as waste minimization and energy efficiency initiatives

Contribute to research and recommendations for alternative chemicals and cleaner processes

Assist in developing documentation for environmental audits and inspections

Collaborate with safety teams to ensure environmental tasks meet OSHA and plant safety standards

Participate in outage activities where environmental oversight is critical

Qualification

Required

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis tools is a plus

Ability to work safely in a plant environment and adhere to PPE requirements

Preferred

Familiarity with environmental regulations and chemical handling principles preferred
