Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking highly experienced and motivated Senior to Principal Software Engineers to join their team. The role involves designing, developing, and troubleshooting software for the Minotaur Mission Processor, which integrates multiple sensor and data sources to support national security missions.

Responsibilities

Research and concept development for solutions to unaddressed, critical military operational shortfalls

System design and software implementation of proof-of-concept prototypes incorporating a variety of engineering disciplines: control theory, software development, signal/video processing, pattern recognition, machine learning, artificial intelligence, high performance computing, applied mathematics, network/web services, and visualization

Support prototype evaluation, experimental operations at military facilities, and transitions of capabilities to government

Support system integration events on various aircraft during ground and/or flight tests

Develop software interfaces to control and collect data from sensors

Potential to fly on aircraft to support system integration and train operators

Design and implementation of graphical user interfaces to meet customers’ demands and needs

Lead, train, mentor and coach junior software engineers

Willing to travel between 10-20 % of the time

Required

20+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 18+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 15+ years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 24 years relevant experience for Principal Software Engineer (Software Engineer 6)

15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience for Principal Software Engineer (Software Engineer 5)

9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience for Senior Software Engineer (Software Engineer 4)

Experience developing software with C++, Java, Javascript or related programming languages

Demonstrated extensive experience working within a Linux environment

Experience and passion for training, leading, mentoring and coaching junior software engineers

Ability to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance
