CAMS is focused on control systems and automation in a combined-cycle power plant, and they are seeking a Controls Engineering Intern for the summer of 2026. This internship will provide practical experience with advanced control systems, data analytics, and safety compliance in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with Distributed Control System (DCS) configuration checks and alarm management audits

Support system backups and troubleshooting of control logic

Participate in instrumentation calibration and loop checks during outages

Compile operational data for performance analysis and reliability improvements

Develop dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI and SharePoint

Update control system documentation and maintain technical libraries

Contribute to technology upgrades and process optimization initiatives

Learn and apply OSHA and NFPA safety standards in all tasks

Participate in lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities

Qualification

Required

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field

Familiarity with control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation

Ability to work safely in a plant environment and adhere to PPE requirements

Preferred

Basic programming knowledge (SQL, Python, or ladder logic) is a plus
