Naval Engineering Systems Analyst

Responsibilities

Responsible as Waterfront Engineering Lead, to include:
Provides on-site support (physical presence) in Fleet Concentration Area (FCA). Maintain relationships and communication pipelines with RMC, TYCOM, Fleet and numbered Fleet Commander staff in FCA
Reviews/verifies status of accomplishment of maintenance actions by visiting work sites and direct communication with Maintenance Team members
Conduct ship visits to assess, evaluate and monitor key platform and system condition and maintenance issues. Communicates findings to other SURFMEPP divisions as needed
Manages Baseline Availability Work Package (BAWP) for assigned Surface Ships throughout the recurring deployment, repair, and training cycles by utilizing systems such as the Maintenance and Material Management database (3M), , Navy Data Environment (NDE), Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Advanced Industrial Management (AIM), Technical Assistance and Assessment Scheduling (TAAS), Validate, Screen and Broker (VSB), and/or other website/databases
Tracks Mandatory Technical Requirements (MTR) from the pre-push review from the BAWP Manager generated from M&SWP to the CSMP shore file in VSB, all the way to execution via TAAS, NMD, AIM, Advanced Industrial Management Express and back through to closeout in VSB. This includes understanding where each MTR is screened/brokered, the status of all MTRs and associated work items, and verification that all MTR tasks are included in the CSMP and in the appropriate work package

Required

Applicant must hold or be able to obtain an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance
Requires a minimum of 6-8 total years of related professional experience in US Navy shipboard engineering maintenance
Solid oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate at all levels from ship's force sailors to ship C.O., Port Engineer, Project Manager, TYCOM Staff
Must be capable of conducting regular visits to ships in port
Requires familiarity with Navy 3M/PMS system maintenance and administration
Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly in Excel and PowerPoint)
Education Requirements: HS Diploma or GED

Preferred

Knowledge of VSB, NMD, and TAAS (CONUS / FDRMC), VSB and AIM (FDNF) desired
