Lead Accountant - Operational Acct

Energy Transfer is a leading operator of energy infrastructure and is seeking a highly skilled Lead Accountant to join their accounting team. The role focuses on ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, managing complex accounting projects related to mergers and acquisitions, and providing guidance on technical accounting issues.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all financial reporting
Provide guidance on complex technical accounting issues and new accounting standards
Conduct regular assessments and updates of accounting policies and procedures
Oversee the consolidation of financial statements for multiple international entities
Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations
Ensure compliance with relevant international accounting standards and regulations
Coordinate with international accounting teams to gather and analyze financial data
Assist with reporting and consolidation enhancements of ancillary ERP accounting systems
Lead the accounting workstream leads for acquisitions, including purchase price allocations (PPA)
Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate acquired entities into the company's financial systems and processes
Analyze and document the financial impact of acquisitions on consolidated financial statements
Monitor and report on post-acquisition performance and related financial metrics
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency and accuracy
Perform in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and key drivers impacting business performance
Lead and participate in special accounting and finance projects as required by Sunoco LP Accounting
Analyze and provide recommendations for process improvements and best practices
Collaborate with various departments to support strategic initiatives and business objectives
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses to support decision-making processes

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of related experience
Strong experience in SAP S/4 FIORI/Winshuttle
Strong analytic and data analysis skills required, especially MS Excel
Must display good judgment and be able to work independently, as needed
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Must be flexible, adaptable and have a high level of initiative

Preferred

Prior fuel inventory and general ledger accounting experience preferred
Experience working with Right Angle preferred
IFRS and US GAAP preferred
