Systems Integration Engineer

Responsibilities
Define system architectures, interfaces, and integration strategies across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems
Own subsystem interface definitions, requirements, and integration documentation
Coordinate integration of gensets, turbines or reciprocating engines, batteries, power electronics, cooling systems, exhaust systems, and fuel systems
Ensure compatibility and alignment between electrical, mechanical, and controls designs
Lead system-level integration planning, build support, and commissioning activities
Identify, track, and resolve cross-disciplinary integration risks and issues
Interface with external partner companies, vendors, and suppliers as a technical point of contact
Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and test engineers, as well as compliance officers to integrate systems with a focus on scalability, manufacturability, and readiness for mass production of developed technologies
Support system testing, validation, and performance verification
Maintain system documentation, block diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), integration plans, and BOM
Operate effectively in a remote, startup-style environment with a high degree of independence
Travel within the United States 25-50% of the time
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field) or equivalent experience
Strong experience integrating complex, multi-vendor systems
Broad technical understanding across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
Ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple teams and organizations
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience designing and validating appropriate airflow paths for thermal management, ventilation, and system reliability in integrated electro-mechanical systems (CFD work a strong plus)
Battery systems, power electronics, and energy storage integration
Control systems, PLCs, or supervisory control architectures
Developing and managing system requirements and interface control documents
Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and best practices (NEC, UL, IEEE, ASME, etc.)
Supporting prototype builds, field deployments, and commissioning
