Clinical Systems Analyst
RL Canning is a global IT managed services and consultancy firm committed to enhancing the digital workplace. They are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Systems Analyst responsible for maintaining Cerner Scheduling functionality, providing application and systems support, and overseeing project completions and system enhancements.
Responsibilities
Develops training materials, including tools such as course manuals, eLearning, webcasts, updates, and competency assessments appropriate for clinical learning needs
Consult with end users on scheduling design and build changes
Test software to detailed specifications
Trains less experienced personnel
Reports on project activity and status to management
Learns new clinical applications and oversees the completion of tasks related to clinical system functions
Attend applicable vendor clinical application classes
Coordinate the resolution of User calls and determine appropriate action by investigating and analyzing reported hardware and software problems
Identify, analyze, track, and report on project issues
Evaluate and assist senior management in the implementation of system upgrades
Analyzing functional requirements documentation, conducting interviews with key personnel, and collecting information about the use of the current system
Assist in the preparation of documentation and development of interface and conversion specifications
Act as liaison between departments and external areas as required. Schedule periodic meetings with IS, Vendors, and Users to ensure effective communication
Identify and encourage user department procedural changes
Conduct workflow sessions with end users
Demonstrate the system to users
Perform system adaptations and modifications according to the prepared specifications
Function as a project implementation manager for clinical system-related projects
Assist in developing departmental education and training materials
Monitor/review procedural materials
Refine sample test plans for conversion, interfaces, and applications
Assist in the development of a Live Event Plan
Provide post-live application support
Work with Project Management to obtain sign-offs
Complete assigned work plan tasks
Maintain tables, files, profiles, code sets, etc
Provide after-hours support for clinical applications according to the schedule
Learn and assist with other applications as directed
Perform other tasks as necessary to support and achieve business objectives
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2 years' experience with Healthcare Information Systems is required
Minimum 2 years' build and maintenance experience with Cerner Millennium Scheduling is required
Implementation project management experience and hands-on experience implementing vendor clinical application software, along with a strong desire to learn other technologies, is required
Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle
Project management and project management software skills
Exhibit the ability to communicate effectively in a customer service environment
Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with both internal and external hospital contacts
Must have excellent verbal and written skills
Use of personal computer hardware and software packages, MS Office, is required
The ability to complete project tasks and assignments on time is required
Preferred
Experience in the use of Client Server Clinical systems is preferred
Application programming experience is a plus
Willingness to travel as needed to support client projects and corporate responsibilities
