The actuarial intern will support the actuarial team in analyzing data to guide pricing and reserving decisions while gaining exposure to general insurance and basic actuarial and data principles.

Responsibilities

Develop an understanding of LWCC’s data and data access procedures

Compile, validate and analyze insurance data

Support data governance initiatives

Calculate pricing indications and/or reserves

Perform mathematical calculations necessary to produce actuarial exhibits

Communicate and collaborate effectively with other departments

Gain an understanding of basic insurance and actuarial concepts

Increasing knowledge of LWCC and the insurance industry

Confers with team members to discuss work processes, plans, and/or tasks to be performed. Presents problems as they are identified and participate in their resolution

Prepare reports/presentations/emails that summarize findings for others

Performs other related duties of a comparable level/type as required
