Responsibilities

Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
Develop comprehensive project plans with timelines, milestones, resources, and budget estimates
Take action to ensure projects (IT) are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to execute projects effectively
Develop and execute change management
Prioritize tasks and manage schedules; monitor performance and initiate corrective actions as necessary
Assemble and lead cross-functional project teams
Effectively assign tasks and provide guidance on project execution
Conduct regular team meetings to track progress and address issues
Motivate team members and foster a positive and collaborative work environment while managing disputes and ensuring team cohesion
Manage relationships with internal and external customers and all stakeholders
Communicate project status, issues, and updates to all relevant parties
Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Proactively address issues and obstacles proactively to keep projects on track
Quickly identify problems, think critically, and devise effective solutions. Make informed decisions to impact the project’s direction and success
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical reports and recommendations
Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring contract obligations are met
Prepare status reports for management and stakeholders
Communicate across various channels (meetings, emails, presentations)
Tailor communication styles to different stakeholders (team members, executives, internal and external customers)
Establish and monitor quality standards for project deliverables; ensure compliance with applicable requirements and standards
Conduct project evaluations and lessons learned
Manage project budgets and track expenses
Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of financial and team resources
Participate in strategic planning and resourcing for major projects

Required

BS degree in Engineering, Science, Computer Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university
A minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience managing projects of various size and complexity. An advanced degree may be considered in lieu of one (1) year of experience
Seventeen (17) or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements
BPMI PM Certification Level 1 or higher. Upon entry into the PM job ladder, certification must be obtained within one (1) year
Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required

Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Adept at financial planning and budget management, including forecasting costs, managing budgets, and controlling spending
Proven experience managing projects of various size and complexity
Able to adapt to new circumstances and unexpected events
Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements while maintaining compliance with organizational policies, procedures and applicable regulations
Able to resolve conflicts and negotiate effectively
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent quality analysis and control skills
BPMI PM Certification Level 2
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
