Associate Brand Manager
Johnsonville is a family-owned company known for its innovative sausage products since 1945. They are seeking a passionate and strategic Associate Brand Manager to drive growth in the Cooking Occasion category by uncovering consumer insights and collaborating across teams to execute impactful marketing strategies.
Responsibilities
Support Brand Manager in strategy development and brand planning for products in the Cooking Occasion
Lead near-term execution of brand and organizational strategies
Identify and activate consumer insights to drive brand relevance and category growth
Champion Johnsonville’s role as a premium sausage brand in cooking products by influencing category strategy pricing and promotional strategies, and execution at retail
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, R&D, Insights, Agency Partners) to align and activate brand strategies
Develop and deliver near-in innovation and renovation initiatives that keep the brand fresh and newsworthy, while partnering with brand manager to develop long-term innovation strategy and pipelines
Lead integrated business planning and consumption forecasting in partnership with demand planning team
Provide ongoing analysis of brand performance, competitive activity, and category dynamics to inform decision-making
Lead in the development of near-term planning, and support brand manager in the development of long-term strategy that aligns to our vision and drives profitable growth for the Cooking Occasion business
Leading voice on key consumer, category and competitive issues
Identify business issues and opportunities to develop strategic and programming recommendations to achieve brand goals
Responsible for on-going analysis supporting brand initiatives
Deliver and commercialize near-in Innovation that keeps the business newsworthy and grows share of shelf
Lead ongoing evaluation of plans in order to deliver benchmarks set for brand and business performance, including market share growth, forecast accuracy, innovation contribution to sales growth and media effectiveness
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field required
2–4 years of experience in brand management, consumer marketing, or category management, required
Experience leveraging consumer insights and syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Circana) to uncover trends and inform brand strategy, pricing, and promotional plans preferred
Experience managing or contributing to innovation projects
Positive and enthusiastic, consistently pushes creativity and innovation
Demonstrated ability to solve problems, create new business and/or elevate existing business to higher levels of performance
Collaborative and can deliver strong results in close partnership with others across work areas, functions and geographies
Innate curiosity as well as strong analytic capabilities, ability to leverage data to generate insights and drive evidence-based decision making
Action oriented, with the ability to set priorities and achieve goals
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, acts with a high degree of integrity, humility and personal ownership
Travel: Less than 20% of your time
Preferred
Experience leveraging consumer insights and syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Circana) to uncover trends and inform brand strategy, pricing, and promotional plans preferred
CPG or Food industry experience strongly preferred
