Responsibilities

Lead and develop multiple teams of engineers and/or managers within the Customer Platform (focused on Subscription), fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture
Coach and mentor engineering teams in Agile, Lean, and DevOps best practices, instilling a culture of iterative delivery, continuous improvement, and shared ownership
Define technical strategy and execution plans aligned with business goals, focusing on innovation, reliability, scalability, and quality of our platform
Drive alignment across squads and cross-functional partners to deliver on key initiatives while managing competing priorities
Scale the architecture and systems with long-term growth and performance in mind, anticipating technical trends and integrating emerging best practices, with a strong focus on evolutionary architecture to ensure adaptability and continuous improvement
Design and implement process improvements, enhancing productivity and delivery velocity
Champion engineering standards and ensure robust assurance practices in a modern, agile environment
Collaborate with product, design, analytics, and other cross-functional partners to influence product roadmaps and customer-centric solutions
Mentor and develop engineers, with a focus on succession planning, leadership growth, and building a strong technical bench
Manage staffing strategy, trade-offs that balance resources, technical debt, and innovation
Represent engineering in cross-functional and executive-level forums, effectively communicating strategy, status, and trade-offs

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (advanced degrees or equivalent experience a plus)
10+ years of experience in development, with a strong background in backend systems
3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, with a track record of building and managing high-performing engineering teams
Deep E-commerce/Subscription experience (Catalog, Payments, Orders, Subscriptions, etc.)
Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or other OOP languages and web frameworks
Demonstrated experience in architecting and scaling applications with a focus on performance, maintainability, and user experience
Strong track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects with measurable business impact
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills—able to translate strategy into clear execution plans
Adept at balancing speed and quality, and creating a culture of continuous improvement and ownership
Strategic mindset with strong business acumen and the ability to advocate for technical priorities in organizational-level planning
Passionate about talent development, fostering inclusive teams, and creating growth paths for engineering leaders
