VP of Technology (Marketing)
Harnham is a mission-driven organization operating at the intersection of education, digital platforms, and marketing services. They are seeking a VP of Technology (Marketing) to lead the modernization of their marketing technology ecosystem, focusing on strategy, architecture, and execution for a multi-tenant marketing platform.
Responsibilities
Define and execute a modern, composable marketing technology strategy that emphasizes flexibility, automation, security, and scalability
Serve as the chief solution architect for complex, cross-functional initiatives—owning design patterns, system trade-offs, and long-term platform direction
Lead an AI-first approach to marketing technology, identifying high-impact use cases and guiding the organization toward future capabilities
Oversee a large multi-brand, multi-tenant web and DXP ecosystem, ensuring consistent performance and experience at scale
Build, mentor, and evolve a 35–50 person cross-functional team spanning product, engineering, delivery, and analytics
Partner closely with senior stakeholders across technology, digital experience, and business teams to align priorities and execution
Drive operational excellence by embedding automation, resilience, and security into all marketing technology solutions
Manage vendors, platforms, and budgets to ensure measurable ROI and sustainable growth
Act as a technology ambassador—clearly articulating the value and direction of the marketing technology platform to internal and external partners
Qualification
Required
Senior leadership experience in marketing technology or digital platforms
Strong background with CMS and DXP platforms (Optimizely would be preferred)
Experience managing large-scale, multi-brand or multi-tenant ecosystems
Deep understanding of personalization technologies, including anonymous user experiences
Proven ability to operate at both the strategic architecture level and the practical execution level
Track record of leading and scaling high-performing technology teams
Comfortable acting as a thought partner to business leaders, not just a delivery function
Preferred
Experience leading DXP or CMS implementations
Exposure to AI in MarTech (content automation, personalization, platform intelligence)
Background in consulting or marketing services environments before moving in-house
Experience supporting high-volume digital or consumer-facing platforms
