Engineering Team Leader/Electrical

Responsibilities
Manage day to day maintenance operations by using sound organizational, prioritization, and technical skills
Maintains daily shop operations by working directly with mechanics throughout the organization to resolve equipment issues, make best value decisions, and improve processes
Directs, coordinates, and supervises all mechanics on team
Effective communication with Customer, team, and manager
Continuous development of staff, through hands on examples, and by serving as a knowledge base
Continuous improvement of team efficiency and effectiveness
Provision of safe and reliable buildings, facility equipment, utilities, and grounds
Responsible for making sure health/safety issues are completed immediately or As Soon as Possible
Provides and effectively presents good information for training, problem solving, and decision making
Helps to manage inter-team relations between Engineering Services’ teams, between Engineering and Construction, and between Engineering Services and other DCH departments
Assume duties of Director/Manager during his/her absence
Manages front line operations of area of accountability related to meeting/exceeding departmental goals, 5 keys of excellence, DCH Mission and Vision
Interviews, selects, hire and retains employees
Executes progressive discipline up to and including termination
Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation
Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Must adhere to the DCH Mission, Vision, and Values including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self
Performs essential job functions in a manner that ensures the safety of patients, visitors and employees
Identifies and reduces unsafe practices that may result in harm to patients, visitors and employees
Recognizes and takes appropriate action to reduce risks and hazards to promote safety for patients, visitors and employees
Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet
Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
Must possess a valid Alabama Driver's License
Must demonstrate facility competence through a cognitive CBT test and specific tasks observation
Must have good organizational, technical, and communications skills
Two year technical degree directly applicable to primary assignment; AND ten years' experience in primary assignment OR ten years' experience relevant to primary assignment area or with Engineering Services at a DCH Facility
