Surface Water Manager
Lee County is seeking a Surface Water Manager who is passionate about engineering, modeling, and problem-solving. The role involves leading a team, driving hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for various projects, and collaborating with other departments to address water challenges.
Responsibilities
Lead Lee County’s Surface Water Program as a technical and supervisory expert
Use modeling software (ICPR, SWMM, HEC-RAS) to evaluate stormwater, flood risk, and infrastructure stability
Review development plans, manage CIP and NIP projects, and coordinate with County and regional partners
Support other departments by providing hydrologic expertise and actionable solutions
Mentor your team, ensuring high-quality results and professional growth
Contribute to FEMA flood insurance studies, LOMRs, CLOMRs, and coastal risk mapping
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field
2 years of engineering experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or can be obtained within a year
Valid driver's license with an acceptable record
Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (ICPR, SWMM, HEC-RAS)
Familiarity with FEMA floodplain mapping and NFIP
Experience collaborating with local governments and regional water management districts
