The Lead Terminal Revenue Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations and revenue reporting of Sunoco LP terminal facilities, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

Ensure timely and accurate recognition of revenue from terminal operations
Monitor contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies
Prepare and review journal entries related to revenue transactions
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to terminal revenue
Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations
Ensure all financial reports are in compliance with GAAP
Perform regular reconciliation of revenue accounts
Analyze revenue trends and variances to provide insights and recommendations
Collaborate with operations and finance teams to resolve discrepancies
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting revenue recognition
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
Develop and maintain documentation of revenue accounting processes and procedures
Review the work of revenue accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering their professional growth
Coordinate and manage the workload of the revenue accounting team to ensure deadlines are met

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Revenue recognition
Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
The Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
The Senior Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
The Lead Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
