Mechanical Engineer – Mid Level (Hybrid)

Barr Engineering Co. is seeking a mechanical engineer to join their team in a hybrid role. The successful candidate will support the Engineering and Design business unit, working with multidisciplinary project teams to serve industrial clients in various sectors, developing engineering calculations, specifications, and guiding project execution.

Responsibilities

Technical knowledge: simple-cycle plant design or renewable natural gas plant design; natural gas boiler project design; compressor station and oil/gas pipeline system design; gas processing and dehydration system design; conveyor and bulk material handling system design; crusher, screen, and separation process mechanical integration; process equipment installation and mechanical layout design; design of machinery and repairs to large mechanical equipment; and retrofit of mechanical systems for plant expansions or improvements
Project management: planning, coordinating, and executing projects. Help ensure project milestones are met and provide regular updates to team members and clients
Field presence: construction observation and surveying as needed. Serve as lead mechanical engineer or project manager for large capital projects within industries

Required

mechanical engineering degree
8+ years or relevant experience
Willingness and ability to regularly travel
familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office software, and computer simulation modeling
possession of a current, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) certification strongly preferred or ability to obtain
