Civil Engineer I-II-Engineering Development Review - Water & Sewer
The City of Greeley is seeking a Civil Engineer I/II for Water and Sewer Development Review. This role serves as the primary contact within the Water and Sewer Department, ensuring compliance with design standards in new development projects and supporting the department in the capital improvement program.

Responsibilities
Ensure development plans and proposals comply with city code, state, and federal regulations
Collaborate with various city departments, contractors, consultants, and the public
Gather, review and track all information from contractors and developers:
Proactively address project issues, assessing situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, making clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of Water & Sewer
Schedule and attend weekly site meetings with contractors, developers, operations, and/or engineering project team. Attend regular internal project meetings
Knowledge of water & sewer construction from a planning perspective
Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to:
Assess problem situations to identify causes
Gather and process relevant information
Generate possible solutions
Make recommendations
Resolve the problem
Big picture understanding the objectives of water and sewer, crucial prioritization, risk-assessment and mitigation, and high-level decision-making
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (four-year degree) in civil engineering, construction management or Building Science, or a related field from an ABET (Accredited Board for Engineering and Technology) college or university
General understanding of civil engineering, utilities infrastructure, and water and sewer system rehabilitation
One (1) or more years of experience working with GIS, InfoWater, Infoworks ICM, MS Project and Excel
One (1) to four (4) years of experience working as a Development Review Engineer or in a closely related field (for Level I)
Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to obtain Colorado Professional Engineers (PE) license within one year (for Level I)
If licensure is held within any other state, candidate must apply for reciprocity to receive licensure in Colorado within six (6) months of hire (for Level I)
Four (4) plus years of experience working as a Development Review Engineer or in a closely related field (for Level II)
Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) Certification or the ability to obtain Colorado Professional Engineers license within one year (for Level II)
If licensure is held within any other state, candidate must apply for reciprocity to receive licensure in Colorado within six (6) months of hire (for Level II)
Possession of a valid driver's license
Preferred
Master's degree from an ABET accredited college or university
At least two (2) years of experience working as a development Review Engineer or in a closely related field preferred
One (1) or more years of experience working with GIS, InfoWater, Infoworks ICM
A combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
Benefits
$2,000 hiring bonus for new hires in this engineering and project management role.
$2,000 bonus upon the successful completion of the 6-month probationary period.
