Responsibilities

Handling all aspects of complex and sophisticated litigation from inception to resolution
Researching and writing legal memoranda
Drafting pleadings, substantive motions and written discovery
Written and oral arguments
Taking and defending depositions
Preparing for trial and settlement negotiations
Developing litigation strategy
Conducting large-scale document reviews and productions
Working directly with clients
Communicating with opposing counsel
Second-chairing trials, depositions and/or evidentiary hearings
Managing multiple matters at a time
Producing exceptional work product under tight deadlines
Building relationships with the Firm's current clients
Developing additional client relationships and business
Demonstrating a drive for excellence and a willingness to take the initiative to solve problems
Working as part of a team and stepping into a leadership role
Detail-oriented and thorough work
Local travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections and depositions

Required

3-5+ years of litigation experience, including researching and writing legal memoranda, drafting pleadings, substantive motions and written discovery, developing litigation strategy, conducting large-scale document reviews and productions, preparing for trial or arbitration, working directly with clients, communicating with opposing counsel and second-chairing trials, depositions and/or evidentiary hearings
Trial experience is a plus
Excellent writing and analytical skills
Ability to draft persuasive, clear and effective pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, memoranda, mediation statements, orders and settlement agreements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Confidence and demeanor to build relationships with the Firm's current clients
Drive and ability to develop additional client relationships and business
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to efficiently manage multiple matters at a time and produce exceptional work product under tight deadlines
Ability to work as part of a team, but also possess the experience, skills and confidence to step into a leadership role
Drive for excellence and a willingness to take the initiative to solve problems
Detail-oriented and thorough
Strong academic background
Admission to the New York Bar is required
Billing requirement of 1,900 hours per year

Experience with both state and federal courts
Appellate experience a plus
Labor and employment cases
Debt collection cases
Directors and officers (co-op disputes, breach of contract, business judgment cases)
Securities litigation, arbitration and regulation
Sexual abuse, molestation, and human trafficking
Insurance coverage disputes
Litigation and trial experience
Willing and able to travel
Class action, mass tort, federal court admissions, and appellate experience
