Composites Technician III (First Shift)
Karman Space & Defense provides concept-to-production solutions for mission-critical systems on spacecraft and defense systems. The Composites Technician III is responsible for the hand layup and filament winding of advanced composite materials, ensuring quality and safety during the production process.

Responsibilities
Builds composite parts using appropriate hand layup techniques
Utilizes ply-placement system for accurate lay up of plies on tools during layup process
Visually inspects for FOD prior to bagging parts for room temperature, oven, and autoclave
Performs in-process inspections as instructed on work orders and as delegated by quality
Reads precision measuring tools and instruments
Uses chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required
Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions
Reads and understands blueprints and drawings
Assists with basic facility maintenance and clean-up
Demonstrates leadership and provides guidance to more junior Composite Technicians
Qualification
Required
High School diploma
Strong proficiency with basic hand and power tools
Typically possesses: 4–7 years' experience in a technical field and/or construction, electrical, plumbing, facility maintenance
Demonstrates an exceptional work ethic and attitude
Physical requirements of this position include moderate physical and repetitious work, standing for extended periods of time, the use of stairs and occasional heavy lifting
Must be a U.S. Citizen
