Responsibilities

The candidate will assist in all aspects of clinical radiation physics, including quality assurance, plan verification, safety, and implementation of new procedures and modalities

Candidates will be expected to contribute to the clinical and didactic education and training of physics residents, medical residents, and therapist students

Strong communication skills and clinical experiences are the prerequisites for the position. Candidates must have the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

Required

An MS or PhD degree in Medical Physics or related field with the appropriate clinical training is required

Board eligible candidates must have successfully completed training in a medical physics residency, and will be expected to pass all sections of the certification process in a timely manner. If applicable, MOC (maintenance of certification) is required

Experience with conformal radiotherapy, 3-D and IMRT treatment planning systems, and high dose rate brachytherapy is required

Knowledge of Linac operations and functions, knowledge of various special procedures (external beam and brachytherapy) is also required

Preferred

ABR (American Board of Radiology) or equivalent certification

Experience with Eclipse and Cyberknife planning
