The successful candidate will draft, negotiate, and advise on complex agreements while collaborating with internal teams to manage legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Providing legal support in the drafting, negotiation, interpretation, and performance of commercial contracts and/or license agreements, including technology and intellectual property-related terms

Counseling on intellectual property and trade secrets and advising on available solutions to mitigate identified risks

Providing timely and high-quality advice regarding laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices relating to technology, data privacy, AI/GenAI, and cybersecurity

Providing legal support and advising stakeholders on issues relating to artificial intelligence and advanced technologies within the company

Developing and delivering presentations to internal stakeholders on relevant legal topics as needed

Managing external counsel to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of fit-for-purpose external legal services as required

Required

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Texas

7-15 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements

Experience advising on issues related to intellectual property, data privacy, cybersecurity, and/or data security, governance, and AI-related issues

Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and analytical skills and the ability to provide concise, practical, and commercial advice in a timely manner to the business and senior management

Strong interpersonal skills, a team player who works effectively with others at all levels and disciplines and is also capable of working autonomously and managing workflows effectively

Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal organizations and externally with counterparties, government stakeholders, and outside counsel

High ethical standards and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
