Responsibilities

Conduct either independently or as part of a team, technical environmental studies and formulate results in a concise, well-written document
Proceed with analysis and report preparation with guidance and final review by the Group Manager
Resolve problems associated with projects
Perform field evaluations, detailed environmental evaluations, check environmental computations done by others, and coordinate environmental evaluations
Assist Group Manager or Project Manager in estimating environmental study costs
Maintain an awareness of project budgets and endeavor to complete assignments with the budget
Draft proposals and statements of qualifications within the directives of company policy relating to marketing
Perform independent work on assigned tasks and projects
Develop an approach to project evaluation for approval by the Group Manager
Proceed with analysis with general guidance and final review by Group Manager or Project Manager
Assist the Project Manager in the development and execution of assigned projects and assume various tasks necessary for project completion
Become acquainted with the procedures and techniques necessary to execute a sound and efficient project
On assigned projects, supervise any drafting or technicians necessary for the completion of an environmental project and help expand their capabilities in project performance
Provide quality work within the scope of work, guidelines, manhours, and schedules defined by the Project Manager
Provide the Project Manager with information and assist in the coordination of information between groups
Provide the Project Manager with information for decision-making related to the overall project
May serve as Project Manager for small projects

Required

Minimum Experience - Three (3) years, including direct experience in the collection and analysis of data, application of standard techniques and procedures, and report preparation for specific projects, with an environmental or natural resource department, agency, or consulting firm
Education (Minimum) - B.S. degree in environmental science or related natural or social science or equivalent
Certification - None required, but professional certification in an appropriate field is desirable

Preferred

M.S. degree is preferred
