Manager, Pre-Release Engineering

Responsibilities
Schedule and manage pre‑release activities—from planning to deployment—for stable and major release branches
Serve as the point of contact for readiness reviews, go/no-go decisions, and release milestone tracking
Work closely with development, QA, operations, and product teams to align on technical requirements and release schedules
Facilitate communication among stakeholders and escalate risks proactively
Enhance automation pipelines to support regression and end‐to‐end testing before each release
Define and maintain stable branch spins cadence to optimize automation effectiveness
Track release blockers, lead troubleshooting efforts, and ensure resolution before each release window
Coordinate rollback plans, incident response, and remediation processes
Define and enforce pre‑release best practices, documentation, checklists, and quality metrics
Conduct post‑release retrospectives to drive continuous improvement
Mentor and manage release/readiness engineers, assign tasks, conduct performance reviews
Identify skill gaps and drive team training initiatives
Qualification
Required
Lead a team of software engineers to plan, design, develop, and deliver high-quality RDK releases for Connectivity Residential and Business Gateway Devices
Collaborates with Quality Assurance team to conduct testing
Has overall responsibility for developing/administering performance standards for organizational unit
Manages team which may include exempt and non-exempt employees
Provides subject matter guidance to employees as required
Develops processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies and assists in the development and meeting of departmental budget

Bachelor's Degree
5-7 Years of relevant work experience
Preferred
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience
