This role involves taking timely rounds on equipment, performing operational functions, and training new trainees while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities
Assists in the operation of high-pressure boilers and plant equipment to provide steam and compressed air to the customer in a safe and efficient manner
Inspects, operates, and adjusts pumps, turbines and equipment associated with safe plant operations
Performs boiler and water treatment analyses, as necessary, to ensure efficient plant operations. Makes adjustments as necessary
Performs minor repairs and maintenance on boilers and auxiliary equipment to prevent shutdown and ensure proper operation in a safe and efficient manner
Cleans and performs minor building maintenance to enhance a safe work environment
Trains and instructs new Boiler Operator Trainees to convey company policies and procedures
Performs other operating functions as needed to ensure uninterrupted operation of the plant
Performs other related functions as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently hold a Special Operating Minnesota Boiler Engineer's License
Ability to work well with others, to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and to direct and/or train others
Preferred
Technical degree
Strong technical knowledge related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of high-pressure steam heating plant or high-pressure boiler operation
Demonstrate ability to coordinate operations and maintenance activities and set and achieve goals with a high degree of self-initiation and independence
Familiarity with boiler and chiller equipment and their auxiliaries and with all types of maintenance work
Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and plant controls applications
Able to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics/blueprints
